If you haven't noticed, this whole internet fad has really caught on. As more people and businesses use the internet to reach other people and potential customers, web video has sky-rocketed to become a major form of communication online. Want proof? Check this out:
1. YouTube streams 4 billion videos every day
Yep, 4 billion. YouTube's growth in the past few year's has been attributed to the rising speeds of mobile web connections and increased appearances in Google's search results. If that number isn't astounding enough, remember that YouTube is getting bigger all the time. Around 60 hours of video is added to the site every minute, up from only 48 hours about 8 months ago.
With this amount of ever-growing content, it's important for companies and brands to have an online video strategy and to create high-quality content that will stand out from the clutter. If this sounds like something you need, you should probably contact your friendly dfw video production company.
2. Video on ecommerce sites can double sales
Selling products online is a lot different than selling something in a store. Customers can't hold your product in their hands or see whatever tiny details they want. To counter this, online retailers try to answer every potential question a customer may have. That's why you often see 10 different product photos and lengthy product descriptions on websites.
If you wonder how video can double sales on a site, consider this:
- When users watch a video on a product page, they're more likely to spend more time on that page
- Any video indexed in Google has about a 50 times better chance of being on the first page of search results than any given text page in the index.
- Video can give much more information about a product than a photo
- Video is a better medium to create an emotional connection with a consumer
StacksAndStacks.com, a home storage and organizational products retailer, reported that its customers who watched a product video were
more than twice as likely to add that product to their cart.
Zappos.com, one of the largest and most recognizable ecommerce sites on the web, reported a
6 to 30 percent sales increase for products with video in late 2009. Since then, the company has added more than 50,000 product videos to its site.
3. Internet video is now 40 percent of consumer Internet traffic, and will reach 62 percent by the end of 2015
If this trend holds true, the next few years of online video growth will be astounding. An old rule of marketing is to make sure that your messaging is where your consumer is. As internet speeds continue to get faster, video usage and sharing will continue to rise.
What does it all mean?
Businesses that want to increase sales and meaningfully connect with consumers on the web are increasingly turning to video, and for good reason. A smart online video strategy, combined with great content are producing fantastic results for the companies that do it right.

Brad Parnell (owner of Steadfast Creative, noted mustache enthusiast and, least importantly, brother of Sam Parnell) will be now officing with us at Red Prodcutions. Brad's been friends of the company for years and helped out on several projects providing graphic design services. Next time you're in the area, come say hi to Brad.
From the Steadfast Creative Blog:
Steadfast Creative is setting sail from the suburban roots in Keller, and moving to the ranching gateway and museum capital of the Southwest. Fort Worth, Texas. We couldn't be more excited to be a part of the growing Fort Worth culture and community, and sharing a space with our great friends at Red Productions, who produce award winning videos and some of the top creative minds in the area.
We'll be making the move early next week, so schedule a time to meet with Steadfast about your new project and you can check out the new digs.

Happy New Year everyone! 2012 promises to be an exciting year for the world of online video. And we, your friendly DFW video production studio, are excited about new YouTube features that, when used correctly, can help increase views and conversions on YouTube.
Bigger Focus on Channels

This is the new page you see on YouTube once you've logged in. This new interface serves as a central hub for relevant information about your video content and allows for easier interaction with channels you've subscribed to. The dark sidebar on the right makes it easier to view your channel subscriptions and publish videos to other social media sites.
New Video Manager
YouTube's also made some much needed improvements to its video manager. The redesign makes many of the previously tedious tasks simpler by allowing you to make multiple video adjustments at once, which is particularly nice for brands that have series of content. The new interface also makes monetizing content easier, as well as monitoring basic video statistics.

Why does it matter?
This redesign shows an emphasis on channels. YouTube is making it easier for users to subscribe to channels and interact with them in new ways; these updates will make following (and sharing) a series of videos from content creators easier. Because of the size of YouTube, redesigns of this magnitude impact millions of people. Check out some of these YouTube stats from Mashable:
- 48 hours of video are uploaded every minute, resulting in nearly 8 years of content uploaded every day.
- More than 3 billion videos are viewed per day.
- Users upload the equivalent of 240,000 full-length films every week.
- More video is uploaded to YouTube in one month than the three major U.S. networks created in 60 years.
- 70% of YouTube traffic comes from outside the U.S.
- YouTube is localized in 25 countries across 43 languages.
- YouTube’s demographic is broad: mostly consisting of 18- to 54-year-olds. YouTube has 800 million unique users visit each month.

Here at Red Productions, we take our Christmas cards seriously. Several years ago, we decided that as a video production company, our clients would probably enjoy a video from us more than a traditional holiday card. And we were right. Several fans and clients look forward to our Christmas video every year. So in true Dickensian spirit, we thought it might be nice to take a look at Christmas Videos Past before our new video drops tomorrow.
